The High Curl ponytail

Its raining outside and the Curls want to act up. No worries, it's as easy as using the pinapple with a lot more swag. It not only shows 2 types  of textures but it also shows off the various tones of colors in your hair.  It's  all a cool iliiusion. When the hair that usually doesn't get much light is now exposed to the light because of how its placed on top of the head then the curls play on to all its different colors. Also because the hair on the side appears darker due to being gathered tightly it compliments in a balance of colors. Next time your curls are acting up than gathering it into a high ponytail may be a fun  way to help them act right!

There is always a trend that tends to stick out every month. Curl hawks however have been trending for many years. Every year the curl hawk evolves and gets a modern touch. I decided to take the challenge. In these curl hawks, I wanted not only for the natural texture of the hair to pop but also for the softness of it to compliment the look. In order to do that I had to create a distinct lines between partings or sections. Also each section has to be smoothed towards the center of the head.  This is actually the part of the curl hawk that becomes a trend. Smooth texture against natural curly texture. We see it in fabrics all the time, heck we even hear it in music when soft lyrics that are sung are in the middle of a rap song. If you utilize something that is completely opposite of each other, it makes for a flawless fusion and balance. Its what I like to call UNAPOLOGETICALLY natural.

The deep side part! Yes curly girls everywhere are exploring the depth of their curls. Not only is it a sexy look its also very easy to create. I have posted some pictures of #curlygirls that are trending on #instagram with there cool lives! If you are thinking of rocking the deep side part here are 5 things that will help you determine what side is right for you and how to make the curls stay.

1 . Find which side is better after the curls have dried. Here is a great quick test. Place your hair in a loose side pineapple pony tail. Try both sides . Stand back and determine which side does the pony tail look better on.

2. Once you have determine which side . take the pony tail down . Use the corner of the eye that is on the side determined for a deep part as a guide.  With your finger follow a line straight across into the hair and start to separate the curls creating a not so perfect line.

3. Take a blowdryer with nozzle and set it on high heat and low pressure. Follow the root area, only  heating up the root area to help set the hair in place( this will help train your hair to lay on a deep part. You should heat up the roots area for about 30 sec.

4. Let the root area cool off and then take a hair pick and pick the root area loosening and creating volume .

5.Spray with a shine spray and you are done
